Want to know the secret to the best crispy pizza rolls? Making them in the air fryer! While the instructions tell you to bake them in the oven, the air fryer brings these frozen pizza rolls into a whole new level.
They are crispy all over and taste just like they've been deep fried but with no oil! That's right, no oil is needed to air fry these pizza rolls.
It's like magic. The exterior of these pizza snacks are so crispy without being greasy and I've yet to see the same results from the oven or the microwave (the microwave makes them limp and soggy!).
You can make it a whole fried food meal without the grease and heaviness of a deep fried using the air fryer - it works great on frozen foods! Try these air fryer pierogies, air fryer potstickers, air fryer french fries or even these air fryer crab cakes!

Why this air fryer pizza rolls recipe works
- It's way better to cook pizza rolls in the air fryer than oven. You don't have to wait for the oven to fully preheat, your kitchen doesn't heat up from the oven, and if you're someone who stores sheet pans in the oven, then you don't have to move them out to make yourself a serving of pizza rolls!
- It's crispy, grease-free, and absolutely perfect. Biting into an air fryer pizza roll is way more satisfying than a less crispy oven version or a soft microwave version.
- It only takes 5 to 7 minutes to air fry making them the perfect quick and easy appetizer! Not account for preheating time, making pizza rolls in the oven can take 10 to 15 minutes and the air fryer halves the time!

All you need are the frozen pizza rolls themselves to make this air fryer pizza roll recipe. Full instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
Pizza rolls — I use Totino's pepperoni pizza rolls for this recipe but you can use any brand of pizza rolls and types like their cheese pizza rolls, triple meat pizza rolls, pepperoni bacon pizza rolls, etc.
I use the standard sized frozen pizza rolls and not the mini pizza rolls. This recipe shows how to cook frozen pizza rolls instead of homemade pizza rolls.
Step by step instructions to make frozen pizza rolls in the air fryer
Preheat your air fryer if your air fryer brand requires it.

- Place the pizza rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

- Cook the pizza rolls at 375°F for 5-7 minutes, shaking the rolls in the basket halfway through. Start checking them at 5 minutes to make sure they don't explode.
Serve these pizza bites with ranch dressing, extra pizza sauce or any dipping sauce of your choice! You can also top them with melted Mozzarella cheese for extra cheesy goodness.
Expert tips
- When placing the frozen pizza rolls into the air fryer basket, it's ok of they touch or are overlapped — they will still crisp up.
- If you have more than 1 layer, you may need to add 1-2 minutes to the cook time to ensure they all cook. Keep checking to see if they are crisped and golden brown on the outside.
- Mine were perfect at 6 ½ minutes, but each air fryer is slightly different. Start checking them at 4 minutes when you shake the basket, then in 30-45 second intervals until browned (up to 8 minutes).
- Make as many or as few batches of pizza rolls in air fryer as you'd like.
- Keep in mind that different brands of pizza rolls may vary in size and the timing would have to be adjusted slightly. If your frozen pizza rolls look smaller than mine (I used Totino's pizza rolls brand), you may have to reduce the cook time by a minute.

Frequently asked questions
To prevent pizza rolls from exploding in the sir fryer, check the basket every minute or so after about 4 minutes to ensure they are not starting to explode. Line the bottom of your air fryer with parchment paper (ensuring you do not block air flow - punch holes in it if needed) to make cleanup easier.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. While you can microwave leftover pizza rolls, they will lose their crispness. To keep leftover air fryer pizza rolls crispy, reheat them in the air fryer! Reheat them for 3 to 4 minutes at 350°F.
No need to thaw your pizza rolls beforehand! Keep your pizza rolls frozen and air fry them as-is.
If you have the mini pizza rolls, you can air fry them at the same temperature but I suggest looking at them at the 4 minute mark to make sure they haven't exploded. They should take 4 to 6 minutes to cook instead.
