This Brazilian Pizza is topped with succulent shrimp, Portuguese linguica, hearts of palm and creamy burrata cheese, all on top of a red pepper chimichurri sauce smothered pita bread crust.
Sweet roasted red peppers blended with fresh lemon juice, tart vinegar and herbs and spices is the perfect base for this super "I need to eat this all day" Brazilian Pizza recipe.
That red pepper chimichurri with the sausage, shrimp, hearts of palm and cheese just makes this pizza droolworthy. I mean, the burrata cheese gets all creamy and melty, the shrimp are juicy and the hearts of palm has just the acidity to help with the fattiness of the linguica. It's the perfect combo.
It only takes 20 minutes in the oven to until these pizzas are ready. A little advance prep, and you've got a perfect meal ready in 30 minutes!
I have really been into neat and interesting pizzas lately. Because who doesn't love a fun pizza? I mean this Bulgogi Beef Korean Pizza and this Thai Chicken Pizza have been some of my favs.
But you can't forget this Tandoori Chicken Pizza with the best sauce I've ever made (seriously...ever), Caramelized Onion Flatbread Pizza, Sardine Pizza or this Mushroom Pizza (technically a tart, but whatever).
What is Brazilian Pizza?
Brazilian pizza is similar to American, however, tends to have little or no sauce on it. Now for this recipe, we do use a light layer of sauce, but it is chimichurri sauce instead of your typical tomato sauce.
Brazilian pizza usually has a thinner crust and can have a wide variety of toppings. Anything on a flatbread is typically considered pizza in Brazil.

The Ingredients
Pita or naan can be used to make these pizzas. You can also make your own pizza dough, but I like the convenience of the pita/naan.
Linguica is a Portugese style sausage that is made with cured pork seasoned with vinegar, paprika and garlic powder (among other seasonings). It's similar to Kielbasa.
Any kind of shrimp will work fine here. I shoot for 31/35 size, but smaller or larger will work as well.
Roasted red peppers are used as the base for the chimichurri. You can roast your own or buy them in jars (way more convenient). If you roast your own, just be sure to peel them after roasting.
Hearts of palm are harvested from the inner core of certain growing palm trees (typically coconut, acai, and peach palms). The taste is similar to a mild artichoke and they look like white asparagus.

Step By Step Instructions
Brown the linguica in a skillet over medium heat.
Remove the linguica from the pan. Add the shrimp, cooking for 1 minute per side until just turning pink.
Preheat the oven to 400F degrees and lay out each pita bread on a parchment paper lined baking sheet (you may need 2 baking sheets depending on the size).
Add 2-3 tablespoons of the chimichurri and spread over the pita bread.
Add the onions, hearts of palm and browned linguica. Top with the shrimp. Add 2-3 tablespoons of burrata over the top of each flatbread pizza.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Serve with extra chimichurri sauce on the side for crust dipping. Because who doesn't love a crust dip?
How to Make Chimichurri
While you cook your shrimp and linguica, you can prepare the chimichurri. This can also be done ahead of time. I usually make mine the day before so I have it ready.
Combine ingredients in a food processor and blend until a sauce forms. It's ok if it seems a little chunky - that adds some texture to our sauce.
**You can also use this Argentinian Chimichurri Sauce for this recipe - it will have a slightly different flavor, but will taste incredible!
Expert Tips
- Make the chimichurri in advance to save some time. Store it in the fridge for up to 5 days in a covered container.
- Substitute naan for the pita bread.
- Substitute marinated (rinsed) artichoke hearts for the hearts of palm if you can't get them.
- Add more or less burrata depending on how much cheese you like.
This pizza is incredible served on it's own, or it can be part of a whole Brazilian style meal and served with this sous vide picanha or Brazilian chicken thighs!
