Duck Pizza is a savory twist on traditional pizza. Duck legs, naan, shredded mozzarella, and a variety of other ingredients will help you make the most flavorful pizza!
If you've wanted to try something new for pizza night with the family, this is a must-make! Making duck is easier than you think!
Guys, we originally only made one pizza because we weren't "hungry." As soon as we each had one piece, the other pizza went right in the oven. And we could have eaten more.
It was that good. The delicious duck, sweet and savory hoisin sauce, crispy wontons...all the stuffs just made this ultra good.

I have made duck many other ways because duck is amazing, hands down. Some of my favorite duck recipes have been Duck Bites (inhaled in one sitting) and this flavor packed Red Duck Curry.
And this sous vide duck breast, stewed duck or sous vide duck confit. I can go on and on. Just search "duck recipes" and they all come up. Make them all.
Of course, once you make the pizza, you might also want Raw Zucchini Salad Recipe to go with or a piece of tasty Air Fryer Garlic Bread! Both are GREAT side options to go with Duck Pizza.

Ingredients
For a full list of ingredients and quantities used, check out the recipe card at the end of this post.
You're going to need one pound of duck legs for this recipe. You can also use any leftover duck you may have from this roasted duck, or any other duck recipe on the site.
You'll also need some naan bread to help make this pizza. You can either buy naan bread at the store, or you can make it yourself using a simple recipe (dude, just buy it if you want this to be easy). If you're having a party, they make these mini naan breads that would be perfect to make mini pizzas!
My favorite cheese to use on this Duck Pizza is shredded mozzarella, as it provides a nice creamy texture and light flavor that goes well with the duck meat and doesn't take away from the rest of the dish.
Fried wonton strips are a topping I LOVE to use on Duck Pizza. Although it's optional, I highly recommend it!
The marinade and pizza sauce use a variety of ingredients that you can also find in the recipe card, mainly hoisin sauce and Shaoxing wine (Chinese rice wine)
Step by Step Instructions
Combine the marinade ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Add the duck legs and let them marinade for 1 hour minimum (max 6 hours).
Preheat the oven to 400F degrees.
Heat an oven proof skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium heat and add the duck legs.
Brown for 1-2 minutes on each side, until a crust forms.
Place in the oven and roast for 7-9 minutes.
Combine all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Remove and turn the oven down to 375F degrees. Let cool then cut the pieces of duck off into bite sized pieces.
Spread all but 1 tablespoon of sauce on the naan bread. Add the duck, red onions, sliced scallions and mozzarella.
You may also want to try using some sous vide garlic confit on this!
Bake in the oven for 7-10 minutes, until crust has crisped and browned around the edges and the middle does not feel too mushy.
Remove, drizzle the reserved sauce over the top, slice, top with fried wonton strips and serve.
Expert Tips
- The key to making great duck pizza is all in the preparation. Make sure to purchase high-quality ingredients, and be sure to cook the duck until it is cooked through (it's easier to shred this way) and shredded into small pieces.
- You can use a pizza stone or cast iron pan for crispier results! I like to change things up when I cook duck pizza.
- Experiment with different toppings and flavors to find the perfect mix that you love. Some great options are roasted garlic, grilled zucchini, spinach, ricotta cheese, or any other mild flavored cheese.
- You don't want to overcook the duck because it will get tough.
- Since you're using naan for the pizza crust, try brushing it with garlic butter before adding the toppings for extra flavor.
- Be sure to let the pizza rest for a few minutes after removing it from the oven so that the toppings can settle and cool slightly before you enjoy it.
Common Questions
Yes, duck meat makes a delicious addition to a pizza. Not only does it add great flavor and texture, but it is also high in protein.
Some of the most common toppings used with duck pizza are onions, green bell peppers, black olives, and mushrooms.
Locally-owned butcher shops and grocery stores are the best places to buy duck legs from. Alternatively, you can also purchase them online from specialty suppliers or from websites like Amazon.com.
Storing and Reheating
If you need to store your leftover duck pizza, it is best to keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat the pizza, preheat your oven or microwave until it is warmed through.
You can also return the pizza to a hot grill for a few minutes if desired. Be sure to use caution when reheating the pizza, as the toppings may become very hot. Always check for doneness before consuming.
