Duck Pizza is a savory twist on traditional pizza. Duck legs, naan, shredded mozzarella, and a variety of other ingredients will help you make the most flavorful pizza!
Combine the marinade ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Add the duck legs and let them marinade for 1 hour minimum (max 6 hours).
Preheat the oven to 400F degrees.
Heat an oven proof skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium heat and add the duck legs.
Brown for 1-2 minutes on each side, until a crust forms.
Place in the oven and roast for 7-9 minutes.
Combine all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Remove the duck and turn the oven down to 375F degrees. Let cool then cut the pieces of duck off into bite sized pieces.
Spread all but 1 tablespoon of sauce on the naan bread. Add the duck, red onions, sliced scallions and mozzarella.
Bake in the oven for 7-10 minutes, until crust has crisped and browned around the edges and the middle does not feel too mushy.
Remove, drizzle the reserved sauce over the top, slice, top with fried wonton strips and serve.
Notes
The key to making great duck pizza is all in the preparation. Make sure to purchase high-quality ingredients, and be sure to cook the duck until it is cooked through (it's easier to shred this way) and shredded into small pieces.
You can use a pizza stone or cast iron pan for crispier results! I like to change things up when I cook duck pizza.
Experiment with different toppings and flavors to find the perfect mix that you love. Some great options are roasted garlic, grilled zucchini, spinach, ricotta cheese, or any other mild flavored cheese.
You don't want to overcook the duck because it will get tough.
Since you're using naan for the pizza crust, try brushing it with garlic butter before adding the toppings for extra flavor.
Be sure to let the pizza rest for a few minutes after removing it from the oven so that the toppings can settle and cool slightly before you enjoy it.
